About Me

Photography never started out as a passion of mine. I’ll be cheesy to say that “photography found me”. I am an unconventional person and my style follows that trait. I go with the flow and don’t particularly follow the “rules” of photography.

One of the reasons I fell in love with photography is that I love nature, so much so, that my husband, Blake, and I eloped in Mariposa Grove in Yosemite National Park with our final kiss at sunset on the edge of a mountain in front of Glacier Peak. It was both my children and the journey of our wedding day that I found my passion in photography.

To add to this unconventional “about me” section, I’ve unintentionally left out my passions for my (4) Siberian Huskies that we have. That I am a momma to three of the most beautiful souls my heart has ever loved; two little boys and a little girl. As well as the fact that I am allergic to alcohol in the worst location I live, to be allergic to alcohol, which is New Orleans. I have an unhealthy affinity to books and movies. I could eat sushi, noodles/pasta, and fruits everyday of my life. I collect rocks, gems, and crystals almost as much as I collect Pinterest photos. But my favorite thing to collect of all things in the world, is the collection of fleeting memories of the relationships I have cultivated in my life.

Now you know a bit more about me, it’s my turn to learn more about you!

Answer

What’s the booking process for a wedding?

I am a believer that, being the right fit for each other is almost as important as documenting your wedding day. Because of this, I do require a bit of correspondence with our emails to help you with planning. If you already know how much time you’ll need covered, what you want covered, and have a set date and location, email me that particular information. If I have your date available, we’ll discuss packages that best fit your needs. After we have decided on a package, I’ll require yours and your fiancé’s first and last name, the location of ceremony and reception (if this applies) and finally a nonrefundable retainer to reserve that date and time.

What’s the booking process for portraits?

For portraits, I’ll need to know your availability and whether or not weekends or weekdays work best for what you’re looking for. When you fill out my form, let me know what kind of portrait session you’re looking for (family, maternity, newborn, different packages), a roundabout date, and your first and last name. Then, we can discuss locations and place a 50% nonrefundable retainer to reserve that date and time.

How far in advanced should I book you?

For portraits, I am pretty flexible with weekday dates, but if you’re looking to have something printed or a weekend date, you should book me at least a month in advanced.

For weddings, I am typically booked between 6-12 months out. My fall dates (October-December) can be booked up to 15 months in advanced. I only take on a limited amount of weddings each year with Saturdays being taken up almost immediately.

What’s your turnaround time?

My turnaround for portraits are typically 2-3 weeks but can run longer during busy seasons.

For weddings, my typical turnaround is 8-12 weeks, but can be longer due to high volume seasons.

What kind of portrait sessions do you offer?

I take on families, children, events such as birthdays, maternity, newborns, boudoirs, in hospital sessions, engagements, couples, mommy and me’s , etc.

I do offer specialized packages such as grow with me: newborn/sitting up/first birthday. Some extended packages may include fresh 48 hospital newborn sessions, birth stories, and maternities.

I only take on a few birth stories as they require me to be on call.

A few times of the year, I offer special priced mini sessions as well.

Would you be willing to travel out of state for a wedding?

HECK YES. Contact me to discuss options and customize a package for you!

Why don’t you use props? Do you have a studio?

I am a natural light and lifestyle photographer. This means I utilize our best tool of light, which is the Sun! I don’t own a studio (yet) but I can work in your home (especially for newborns) or in brightly lit locations. I choose to be very minimalistic in my work as I lean towards providing you with prompts and having fun in your session as opposed to restricting you to “posing”. I do pose you, per se, but not in the way I would in a studio! Any props I use will also be minimalistic (like blankets, chairs, simple toys, or botanicals, etc). Pets are always welcomed!

*I am not opposed to you bringing your own props, though. I have in the past have had clients bring sentimental items to be photographed along their session and this is highly encouraged!
